Hibbert Davis name has been removed. A flash back in time the name is now Peggy Ann. So many changes, I stopped going in. I’m guessing coffee is still a buck, but can’t advise. update info 06/20/2009
Crawled out of bed this Saturday around 10:00 am, and cruised over by the Habitat store to drop off of a few unneeded items. I wandered into Hibbert Davis around 11:45 AM, and found my way up to the counter for a coffee mug. Had to settle for a paper-cup to go style instead. The house blend was empty, so I was offered an Americano instead, and thought the upgrade was a great deal. As 12 noon came about, I soon realized the place was getting ready for closing time. I have always thought coffee was not only a morning drink, but a anytime drink. Hibbert Davis, has the best price around the Tri-cities for a cup of java, but as this location keeps changing ownership, I also feel the yo-yo effect of it’s operating hours.
I never found that Starbuck on Stone Drive, but I did find this jewel instead. Inside the Books A Million store is a Joe Muggs. Two of my favorite enjoyments of life, books and coffee. Finally Kingsport, TN has more then a mere six linear foot of shelved books in any one subject, be it computers, or cooking.
Made it by Citi Expresso Caffe after catching a movie with the wife tonight. This place caught my eye yesterday in the Kingsport Times News. There is a drive up window on either side of the structure, which is most cool. While I waited my turn to order, I had the pleasure to sample both a small shot of caramel silk frappe, as well as a shot of mint mocha frappe. I’m not so keen on the flavor caramel, but I got to say it was very good. I ended up with a 16 once red eye, and made my way back to the house. I hope this spot is here to stay.
